A Special Message From the Executive Director:
“My Take Away of Gun Prom 2021”
Last weekend I was fortunate enough to join a small group of Riverside County & San Bernardino Gun Owner members in attending San Diego County Gun Owner’s annual Gun Prom. Here are a few of my takeaways from that event and how Inland Empire Gun Owners can learn from SDCGO.
IEGO has a very bright future ahead of us, but it will take a lot of hard work by everyone involved to champion for the Second Amendment in our respective counties. Attending the Gun Prom gave us a glimpse behind the curtain of just how tirelessly SDCGO fights for our Second Amendment rights and to encourage and promote responsible gun ownership to the masses of San Diego. SDCGO was founded 6 years ago and has over 2,900 members and a large percentage of them are very involved in one way or another in the uphill battle of protecting our Second Amendment rights.
RCGO & SBCGO were founded roughly 2 years ago, right at the beginning of the Covid lockdowns and restrictions. While it made it difficult to hold in person meetings and shooting socials, it taught us valuable lessons in determination and caused us to rethink and retool on the fly. As some of the restrictions have lessened, we are poised to reemerge on the scene as a leaner and more focused combined PAC.
As we end 2021, RCGO and SBCGO will be joining forces to become Inland Empire Gun Owners, with just over 450 members strong and growing! As my husband likes to say,
“We are not the typical gun organization where you sign up, get a cheap Chinese range bag and a false sense of participation. We are a Political Action Committee where you sign up and get involved!”
While we understand that not everyone can stand at a tabletop event almost every weekend talking to potential members like Michael Cooke, or singlehandedly organize a shooting social every month like Derek Hardister, or guide women mentors as they educate new female gun owners as Katey Berglund does by heading up our NotMeIE Program. Everyone, however, has something to bring to the table. We are asking you all to think about your strengths and consider bringing them to the group, to help us all accomplish our goal of promoting local politicians who share our love for the Second Amendment.
Among the plans that we are working on for the end of 2021, this coming year and beyond are:
  •  Planning a Holiday party for this December to officially kick-off the beginning of Inland Empire Gun Owners!
  •  Holding one combined monthly meeting for both Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, switching locations each time. Live streaming these meetings for those that can’t make it in person.
  • Becoming more involved in the local gun community.
  • Getting more active in vetting prospective candidates to ensure that we have the best possible people vying for local offices.
  • Putting on our very own version of Gun Prom in the Fall of 2022!
  •  Scheduling more social activities to invite members, patrons, and potential new members to.
I look forward to the coming years as the Executive Director of Inland Empire Gun Owners and working with all of you in preserving our Second Amendment rights, electing Second Amendment Friendly Candidates and growing our PAC. Please join us as we plan and grow into a GOPac that rivals even San Diego and remember…..Together, we will WIN!

Become an Ambassador Today!
The #NotMeIE program is a mentor/mentee referral service run by women for women to help them:
  • Obtain firearms training
  • Get assistance in choosing and purchasing a firearm
  • Obtain a CCW
How does the program work?
A potential client can fill out the application for service on our website: http://riversdiecountygunowners.com/notmerc Once received, the project manager reviews the application and assigns the client to an Ambassador. An Ambassador then contacts the client to begin the process of walking them through whatever their firearm needs are. After the client has been successfully helped, their case is closed and the Ambassador is given a new client to work with. Most of our Ambassadors are also NRA certified trainers. They are very knowledgeable in all aspects of firearms training and purchasing. IEGO also offers an online CCW seminar once a month. Check the RCGO website for upcoming dates.
